I only need the information about how to make the existing applets visible.

Are these local or eDirectory applets? Most likely solutions are not registered or the license file for the solution pack has not been distributed to the user’s workstation. Please see the Users Guide, How to Register section for more information various choice to register solution. Text below copied from Users Guide…

Formativ software is distributed as fully featured, 30-day trial software. In order to use Formativ and any solutions beyond the trial period, you will need to register your software. Registration can be accomplished by any of the following methods:

            · The Formativ Registration Utility

            · Using the Registration tab in the Formativ About box

            · Automatic Registration at Installation

            · Licence Files

Choose the method which best suits your needs

            · If you are a single user, we recommend you use the Registration Utility, available from the main GroupWise menu. You may also use the Registration Tab from the About Formativ box in GroupWise (the latter option simply starts the Registration Utility).

            · If you are an Administrator, we recommend you use either the Registration Utility, command line parameters or a License File when installing the appropriate product.

Which applet solutions are you deploying?

If you are deploying Advansys commercial applet solutions, are you using the solution installer to deploy the applets? If you are not using the Advansys solution installer, the solution’s manifest file, which is stored in the Formativ System folder and which is required for licensing, will not be present unless you are distributing it manually.

If the problem persists, please send Formativ configuration from one of the machine where the applets not showing to support (support@advansyscorp.com). Please see the following post about similar enquiry:

In a nutshell, this solution requires Outlook client (2000 onwards), you can easily open a PST file in Outlook client (See File – Open or resources in web). You also will need to make sure MAPI configuration set-up as described in Users Guide. The text below copied from the Personal Outlook Migration help.

                quote:
There are well known MAPI configuration issues when running both the GroupWise client and Outlook on the same workstation. Prior to migration, prevent Outlook using the Novell MAPI default settings by configuring the Outlook client to prompt on startup for the MAPI profile to be used.

You can configure this behavior in the Outlook client under Options | Mail Services | Prompt for a profile to be used. On Windows 2000 or above, you can also set this option by using the Windows Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles, “When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile:” Prompt for a profile to be used. When Outlook starts and prompts you for the profile, select the appropriate one to connect to your Outlook data.

                Hope this helps.

As we said earlier in this thread that we could not reproduce this issue with beta client.

We also could not reproduce the issue with GroupWise 2012 SP1 (Version: 12.0.1, Build date: 07/09/2012, Installed Language: EN). Filling Assistant appear to work fine, including Undo, select folder after move, etc.

Latestly I found another issue where Formative crashes with GW2012.

In “Import dates into your calendar” from the Calendar Pack nearly everything works fine, one problem is that using roll-back also leads to a crashing GW-client.

Our engineers unable to reproduce this behaviour with GroupWise 2012 SP1 (Version: 12.0.1, Build date: 07/09/2012, Installed Language: EN).

Roll-back option removed imported items and no crash of the GroupWise client. However, during testing we have noticed once after roll-back, imported items remain but disappear after pressing F5 (refresh) on the GroupWise client. There is a known behaviour of the GroupWise client on refreshing items.

Please make sure you are running the latest point release of the GroupWise 2012 client, you can find latest point release from here: http://download.novell.com/patch/finder/

I think, it’s a problem with the GW Integration. Because, when i receive the message and i should get an “GW#C#OPEN” Event, Formativ seems not to start.

Our engineers unable to reproduce this behaviour with GroupWise 2012 SP1 (Version 12.0.1 build date 07/09/2012).

We have created following test applet to show event in a message box:

                        Sub Main(Client, GWEvent)

                          msgbox GWEvent

                        End Sub

Then we integrate the applet to following events (Formativ IDE – Integrations tab):

                        – GroupWise Application: “On Message arrival”
                        – Mail: “OnOpen”

On opening message we see “GW#C#OPEN” and on message arrival “GW#E#1”.

Yes, there is some known GroupWise issue of refreshing view when category updated.

You can post a message in GroupWise forums, hopefully Novell will review this.

See the Object API documentation for more information, specially Mail & Message object.

Sample code below should remove first category from the message.

We had a few reports about this issue and most cases it was resolved by following one or more of the tasks listed in this feature topic:
                              Troubleshooting Export Problems

                              Especially the following items:

                              quote:

                              • Create a new folder and move potential problem messages

Part of the GroupWise data store may become corrupted. Experience has shown that moving potential problem messages from one folder to a newly created folder can force a rewrite of the data store, which may rectify the access problem. After moving the messages from the ‘problem’ folder, you may need to delete it.

                              • Folders which contain more than 5,000 messages

If you are having problems exporting folders which contain a very large number of messages, try splitting the folder into new folders which contain less than 5000 messages each.

It is probably also a good idea to update the GroupWise client from 8.0.1 to the latest patch release. After making the above changes, please do a thorough GWCheck (Fix Structure and Contents) before retrying the export.

                              Hope this helps.

                              Regards,

Does that mean additional details of some contacts migrated?

We have an updated version of the Personal Outlook Migration solution available (version 2.0.8), you can try the updated version which we haven’t released yet. It has some minor fixes, details listed in this post:

                                Extract from the post:

                                quote:
You can download the updated version from here: http://beta.advansyscorp.com/P…igration_Express.zip

You should save the updated version in default Formativ applets folder, usually “c:Documents and SettingsUSER-NAMEMy DocumentsAdvansysFormativApplets”. Prior to replace, please backup the existing version. Finally, restart the GroupWise client.

                                Few suggestions:

                                • Make sure you have the latest point release of the GroupWise client.
                                • Setup MAPI configuration as described in the documentation:

                                  quote:
There are well known MAPI configuration issues when running both the GroupWise client and Outlook on the same workstation.
Prior to migration, prevent Outlook using the Novell MAPI default settings by configuring the Outlook client to prompt on start-up for
the MAPI profile to be used. You can configure this behaviour in the Outlook client under Options | Mail Services | Prompt for a profile to be used. On Windows 2000
or above, you can also set this option by using the Windows Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles, “When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile:” Prompt for a profile to be used.
When Outlook starts and prompts you for the profile, select the appropriate one to connect to your Outlook data.
                                • Importing large number of contacts can slow down GroupWise process. It is a known GroupWise issue. Few posts about it:
                                  http://www.advansyscorp.com/forums/topic/5501017112/
                                • You should test a small Address Book before attempt to migrate large Address Book. You can create a small Address Book with few contacts, make sure the solution migrate all contacts, verify data then migrate the large Address Book. Alternatively, you can also split the large Address Book with smaller Address Books.

Please note, Personal Outlook Migration is a cool solution applet. All applets supplied to the Novell Cool Solutions Applet Central area are not supported by Novell or Advansys. However, we always try to update the solution (bug fix, enhancement, etc) when the resources becomes available.

                                Hope this helps.

                                Regards,

                                  Thanks for your post.

We have received few reports about this behaviour and most cases it was environmental or MAPI configuration.

We haven’t tested this free solution against GroupWise 2012, so we unable to confirm its behaviour. Please make sure you are running latest point release of the GroupWise client.
