October 21, 2002 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Listing the contents of a folder to a Word document – problem with script #6416
We have not been able to reproduce the problem under Win2K. Perhaps it could be related to a language issue, but this is just a guess at this stage. I will pass this onto the engineering team to see if they can offer further suggestions.
Do you happen to have a machine with Word 2000 (or later) installed to check if the same problem occurs?

Do any other applet solutions work which use the portals? For example, does the Manage Web Site applet work from the GroupWise main toolbar?
Do you receive any error messages?
If you run the Today View from the GroupWise main toolbar, does that work?
I presume that you did install all files which are supplied with the GroupWise 5.5.7.2 update? I don’t think this is the issue but I just wanted to check.

Thank you for the information and this will be passed onto the engineering team for review.
Could you please let us know which applet does not appear in Admin?
Best regards,
Advansys Support
Thank you for your feedback, which I will pass onto our engineering team for review. You can see if an User/Group/OU/O object is associated with a Formativ Configuration Object by viewing its See Also property, which is where the FDN of the Configuration object is stored when the Associate button is used.
Your feedback will contribute to the development of future enhancements in this area.

It was true for Formativ Client 1.0 but this option is now valid for Formativ Runtime 1.5 because of the new availability of the Business Solutions Pack 30-day trial and the other free solutions which ship with the product (No Junk Mail, Today View etc.).
Unfortunately it appears that this restriction was erroneously left in the documentation and we will update it.
We tested the config file again and the parameter following your message and it worked in our case. One thing to be aware of is that, if you are not using ‘Silent’ mode, during the installation you will still see the options checked for the applet solutions regardless of your configuration file settings. However, if you proceed, the applets and data will not be installed. When designed, it was anticipated that the configuration file would be used in silent mode (no user intervention) and thus the user option dialogs would not be seen.
Are you going through the full installation cycle and still not having any success?

Have you changed the Protocol settings to force LDAP operation in the Formativ Windows Control Panel applet (Windows Control Panel)?
If you have the NetWare client installed, you will need to specifically select the LDAP protocol option on the Protocols tab of the Formativ Windows Control Panel applet. The next time you start your GroupWise client, the LDAP dialog will appear, which will enable you to complete the relevant details.
You can also force specific protocol settings during installation of Formativ using the configuration file startup parameter.
Please let us know if this information does not assist you solve the operational problem.

The configuration should work but the trick is to include the config file in the same directory as the installation program, i.e. do not use a fully qualified path to the filename, just the filename. For example:
z:installformativruntime /i-config.ini
We will look at making this more flexible in a future update.
Changing the Configuration settings for the “Create and Manage Personal Applets” in eDirectory has no effect on Formativ Runtime.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or problems.

It may be that you have installed the open source version of the solution, which does not operate with Formativ Runtime. You may need to install the Encoded version of the applet, which is available for download from the following URL:
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/downloads/publish_distribution_list_encoded.vbf
You should install this applet into the c:program filesadvansysformativlocal folder and restart the GroupWise client. You will then be able to access this solution from a new toolbar icon and from the Applets | Run menu.
As this free solution is fairly straight forward to use there is no formal documentation. The key information is shown below.
COMPATIBILITY: Advansys Formativ 1.5.1.0 or above
DESCRIPTION:
Lists members of the selected GroupWise distribution list in a Formativ 1.5 portal. You can optionally print the list from the portal display. This solution will work only with Formativ 1.5.NOTE: You are required to provide the full path to the domain database and have admin rights access. Contact your system administrator for more details.
INTEGRATIONS: GroupWise toolbars.
We are happy to assist you to get you operational. Please don’t hesitate to post any further questions.

Instead of declaring a constant, you can use a standard variable declaration:
CAPTION = “BauBeCon IT L” & chr(246) & “sungen”
Please let us know if this suggestion does not help.

Hi Sam,
As we need to gather additional information regarding the Citrix environment and management from you, we will correspond with you directly and upon resolution we will post the relevant information to this forum.

While you have extended the schema, have you created the required Formativ objects in the directory, such as the FormativAdministrator role, Configuration and Library objects? These objects must be present and configured correctly in order to leverage Formativ’s eDirectory features. The Formativ ConsoleOne snapin enables you to create and manage these objects.
Full details, including a Quick Start guide, can be found in the Formativ Administrator’s Guide.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
