Thanks for the update. In an earlier post you mentioned these machines exhibited slowness when dialogs, etc, were being rendered. This leads me to suspect a resource issue.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Perhaps you could add a unique identifier to the appointment (perhaps the subject or body text) when the appointment is composed. This ID would then be included in the items sent to the recipients. When they respond, look for the ID in the incoming messages and use it as the key to locate the original message.

It’s very difficult to say what might be causing this problem to persist on a couple of machines, but it’s probably a fairly safe assumption that it’s a specific environmental issue.
Are all the machines the same in terms of specification (i.e. processor, memory, antivirus software, etc)?
You may want to try (temporarily) disabling any antivirus software, etc, and try again to see if something on the machines is consuming resources that might cause the solution to fail.
You may also want to try increasing the amount of available virtual memory. Do this via the Windows Control Panel. Select the System applet, then select the Advanced tab. Press the Settings button on the Performance group. When the Performance Options dialog appears select the Advanced tab. Press the Change button in the Virtual Memory group. Increase the Initial and Maximum MB size (I am using 768 and 1536MB respectively). Press Set, then OK.
I hope this helps.

Other than the Get and Post methods of the HTTP object (I assume that’s what you are referring to), Formativ doesn’t have any other language extensions in this category.
You may be able to do something with Javascript in the browser. If could provide specific details of your objectives I might be able to offer more specific advice.

No problems.
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘GroupWise 6’, but the minimum version if 6.5.3. Start GroupWise, then have a look at the Help | About GroupWise dialog. It shows the version number of the client you are using.
A ‘cannot connect to Post Office’ is possibly indicative of incorrect configuration information. At which stage of the process do you see this message? You may wish to check your System properties to ensure you have specified the correct IP address and port number of the POA serving the problematic post office, or the path to the post office (if specified).

Thanks. I’ll take a look and get back to you.

No problems. Thanks for the update. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your post.
Applets are written using the Formativ Language, which is an extension of Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBS). Learning VBS would be a good place to start.
Once you have a grasp of VBS fundamentals, I would suggest you work through the Developers Guide (part of Creator and Studio). The Language Guide is also a good reference.
You can also down many example applets from our downloads page. These are a good source of techniques and ideas.
You need Creator or Studio to write applets. While you could theoretically write them with any text editor, you wouldn’t be able to run them.
I hope this helps.

FYI, the Novell defect number for this issue is 135735.

Thanks for the information regarding taskkill. If it simply terminates a task you would have to be careful about possible mailbox corruption if GroupWise was busy at the time it was terminated.

I believe this question has also been asked by Campbell Johns, and has been answered by direct email.

I don’t know of a command prompt application in Windows that can be used to kill a process. I suspect you would have to write a utility that located the GroupWise process and issued a request that it be shut down.

Unfortunately yes. I’ve reported this again, but have not yet heard back from Novell.
