Thanks for the update.
There are not currently any books available on Formativ development. Probably the best reference available would be the Developers Guide, which is installed with both Formativ Creator and Studio.

You can download the beta update from:

Please be sure to read the update information on this page prior to installing the software.
Please let us know if this version solves your problem.

The Personalized emailer should not send out duplicates. I assume you are using a text file containing email addresses as your data source? I’ll take a look at the solution and reply in this thread.

Thank you for the additional information. Formativ does not include any inherent capabilities to create solution installers. You can use any third party installation builder, such as WISE or InstallShield to create a solution installer. (We use WISE internally).
I hope this helps.

At the moment this is not possible without making changes to the applet. We are looking into exposing some constants in the solution you can set to enable/disable some of the option items. While we should be able to do this fairly readily, I can’t provide an availability date at the moment.
How many users would you like to disable the Options items for?

Sorry – my last post was a little misleading. You can specify all the portal folder options except the Portal Folder Default value via a config file.
Unfortunately you need to push out the directory entry via Zen or similar (see the post from the 21st of November above for details of the ‘Portal Folder Default’ key). The value in ‘Portal Folder Default’ is a specially coded binary format. You need to manually select an applet via the control panel, then check the registry to obtain the actual data you need to write into the registy
The ability to set this value via the installer was omitted originally due to security concerns. We are reviewing this decision, but at this time pushing out the registry key is currently the only way to acheive your objective.

You cannot create an executable (EXE) from an applet. You can, however, Flexalock your applet via the right mouse context menu in Formativ Creator/Developer/Studio/Admin. This encrypts your applet and allows it to run with Formativ Runtime (and the aforementioned developer products as well).
I hope this helps.

The update has taken longer than anticipated due to some other issues and new fearures we ended up addressing. We should have the update available next week sometime. I’ll post something in this thread when the update is available.

Hello Amy,
We have received the applet. I’ll take a look today and get back to you ASAP.

Hi Amy,
I would suggest you try restarting the client to ensure the integrations were properly registered on the other machine. (A restart is sometimes required, especially when working with custom contexts).
You should also check that the user has write access to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARENovellGroupWise5.0C3PODataTypes and below in the registry. Access is required in order register the custom context. Some users do not have the appropriate access to this part of the registry.
If niether of the above suggestions work, could you please send me a copy of the applet and the Formativ configuration information from the machine in question (see the configuration tab of the Formativ about box). You can send the files to support@advansyscorp.com.

Stuart,
Unfortunately, none of the Control Panel settings are configurable via C1/eDirectory.
In terms of the portals, you would have to push out some registry settings to specify the name of the portal folder, and the name of the applet to be run when the folder is clicked.
The settings you are interested in are:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAdvansys Corporationformativ1.0Settings
Portal Folder Enabled = 1
Portal Folder Name = “The name”
Portal Folder Default = “Binary data”The value in ‘Portal Folder Default’ is a specially coded binary format. You will nee to manually select an applet via the control panel, then check the registry to obtain the actual data you need to write into the registy.
You can also write these values on install using the /i- switch and a config file. See the installation topic for details.
I hope this helps.

Quick Config shows only applets that are in your local applets folder. It doesn’t show applets in the common applets folder, or applets distributed via eDirectory. The rational behind this is that you don’t have rights to modify anything other than your local applets.
Could this be the problem?

You may wish to ask this question in one of the Novell GroupWise support forums – see http://www.novell.com.
Advansys SupportNovember 16, 2004 at 7:08 pm in reply to: The Specified Module could not be found using McAfee 8.0i and XP #5868You may want to re-check those registry edits. It sounds like you may have accidently unregistered one the required script host DLL’s, as opposed to the McAfee scriptproxy.dll.
