      Hey, I’m new to this as I have just taken over a site that uses formativ. The previous tech was gone before I started, but came in recently to show me some things around. He showed me in Groupwise how I’m supposed to have under the “applets” menu choice there should be some administrator options. All I have now is Run and Quick Config. Any assistance would be wonderful.

        Dear James,

        Thank you for your enquiry, and welcome to the Formativ community!

        The only administrator options available via the Applets menu are accessed by selecting Manage Applets, which opens the development environment Formativ Central. At present this menu item is only available with Formativ 1.6 Admin or Formativ 2.0 Studio.

        In addition there is the Windows Control Panel applet Advansys Formativ, for setting a range of configuration options for the Formativ client.

        For administrator resources, I recommend you look at the:

        • Formativ Users Guide;
        • Formativ Administration Tools page here;
        • Formativ Distribution Resources page here.

          I’m back again.

          I’m trying to figure this stuff out again.

          I’ve reinstalled Formativ 1.6 Admin and I get no “Manage Applets” option anywhere.

          Any ideas how to get it on?
          James

            Thank you for your enquiry.

            I am not sure why the Manage Applets item is missing from your Applets menu.

            Could you send your Formativ configuration, please, to support@REMOVE-THISadvansyscorp.com ? You can obtain the configuration by selecting Help | About Formativ… from the GroupWise main menu. When the About Formativ dialog appears, go to the Configuration tab and click the button Copy to clipboard. Then paste the text into your email.

            Regards,

              I found what was going on. After I reinstalled the tools for the console one plug-ins, then went into it’s options and enabled the manage option to be on for users using admin or creator/studio. Since I was new, I wasn’t sure what I the objects in Console One looked like, and something wasn’t right in mine so the options weren’t there until I reinstalled them.
              Thanks.
