I have installed Formativ Runtime on my Citrix server. We have an application that gets the
“The Windows Script Host Has Been Disabled. to protect you from potentially malicious scripts, the ability to automatically run VBS and VBE scripts has been disabled on this machine.” message. I followed the instructions in another post on how to re-enable the assocation and it works but I have to do this each time a user starts a session. Is there any way to enable this permanently? Or do I have to remove the runtime?

      Thanks,

      Carol

In Formativ versions prior to 2.0.1, the Formativ installer would disable the association between VBS/VBE files and the Windows Script Host. However, we changed that operation in 2.0.1 and it should not do that any more.

As you know already, you can re-assign the association from the Formativ Windows Control Panel applet – press the ‘restore association’ button under the additional security section (and ensure the ‘disable association…’ option is unchecked).

If this is not solving your problem, it would appear that the Registry entry controlling this setting is being rewritten by Citrix for some reason. Perhaps a master(?) Registry entry is not set correctly and is propagating when a Citrix user logs in?

Sorry, I should have mentioned in my first post that we are running 2.0.1 on GroupWise 7 SP1. Can you email me the registry key so I can check my servers?

          Thanks,

          Carol

Is that reg key available? I have a Formativ 2.0.1 running with Groupwise 7 SP1 and Formativ stops all WSH calls even though windows scripting is apparently enabled. Unchecking the box in Formative control panel advanced settings appears to do nothing to re-enable windows scripting.

I am having the same issue described above (windows Script Host disabled) with Groupwise 7 installed. Please send me the appropriate registry changes. Thanks.

I have just started receiving this error on several of my users systems, I am unaware of what this poster is talking about on disabling the association or the registry fix you are talking about, can you provide me with the info I need to stop this error?

Ditto with us, however, manually changing the settings works, however changing the setting on several hundred machines doesn’t. Would it be posible to get the registry hack so we can push it with Zenworks.

We have emailed you the link to download a console application which restores the VBS association and turns off the Formativ ‘disable associations’ settings.
