Our applet launches on the SEND event of certain message types. In one particular case the applet executes twice before sending the message, and I was hoping you could tell me why…

To reproduce the problem, integrate any applet with the SEND event of an appointment.

Send yourself an appointment and accept it.

Switch to QuickViewer mode and in your Calendar window select the Day or Week view (won’t work with Month view).

Select the message in the calendar so that it appears in your preview window, and click the Reply button in the toolbar of the preview window. (Don’t open the message from the calendar to reply to it.)

Hit Send and the applet will execute two times. In my case, the user must hit OK twice to get rid of the dialog. The applet also inserts a header into the message twice.

Do you have any idea why this might be happening? It applies to any message type that can be “Accepted” and selected inside your calendar view (ie. Reminder Notes, Tasks).

      Much appreciated…

We have been able to duplicate this behaviour. The most likely cause is a bug in GroupWise. We will investigate further and get back to you as soon as possible.

Users are still reporting this problem. Do you know if Groupwise 7 addresses this issue?

          Thanks.

We’ve just tested this and unfortunately it would appear Novell have not fixed the defect in the 9/29/2005 GW release. Feel free to lobby Novell to have this issue resolved – the more voices the better.
