Problem when running the outlook migration tool,
Normally in outlook “from” field there is a name displayed and an email address in < >

However during one migration the the “From” field seems to be stripping the name part out and only including the email address in the “from” field.

I’ve tried repairing the pst file, creating a new pst etc. but no change.

Sorry, this is working as designed. There may be workaround to include name and email address. We will include your request to our enhancements list.

oh? Every other migration I had performed in the past included both the email and “From” name.

Interesting, using our ‘Personal Outlook Migration’ solution or other migration utility?

We have tested in-house and behaviour same as reported, where name not included in recipients.

                Perhaps my description is confusing.
I’ll try to rephrase it and be more specific:

Within the inbox folder of outlook, the emails are displayed with the regular column fields of
From, Subject, & Received (as well as a few others such as attachment, categories, flag etc)

In the “From” field it often displays a name, or an email address, or both. If both are displayed it usually appears as something like this:
                Timothy

the ‘name’ part comes from the “Your Name” user information setting within outlook’s account settings.

In the past when I ran the migration utility, the “from” data was copied into groupwise and appeared the same as it did within outlook. So if it was only an email address in outlook, then only the email address appeared in “from” within groupwise. however if it was just a name or both the name and email address, then it
displayed the name and email address within the “from” field.

                  Thanks for the clarification.

We have added your comments to our enhancement list, we will review this in our next update to the solution.
