How to get signature text?

Hi!

Is there a simple way to actually get the signature text (of the current user)?

I’ve already found out how to set the text (with the PrefSignature()-Token), but that seems to be write-only.

I just wanted to ask if there is a simple way to accomplish that, before a start writing a complex workaround

Hello Martin,

I am not aware of any simple means to obtain the default GroupWise signature text. I recall we have already submitted this as an enhancement request to Novell from an API standpoint.

So did they ever get back to you guys? this is a must for us as we are replacing the onsedn event with are own event.

Only issue is the novell signature form runs (if the user has it set-up that way) and the changes/default do not get written to then email when sending it. Even after using Utilities.DoEvents…

Any insight for us?

Sorry, we haven’t heard any update about the request. We will need to take a look whether any new APIs added to Bonsai (GroupWise 8 onwards).

In the meantime, if it helps, you can enable/disable the GroupWise signature using the PrefSignature token.

call groupwise.throwtoken("PrefSignature(0;0)", iReturnValue)
