      Hi,

We have been using formative 2.6 and groupwise 2012 when deleting an attachment from a mail the pointer went to the next mail and did not piont any more to the selected mail. We also have some users who get extra empty formative folders (can we just delete them and how come??)

On one pc i have installed formative 2.7 and groupwise client 2012. When i use the “detele attachment” app it works fine. The pointer is also staying on the selected mail.
      Is formative 2.7 also working(compatible)with gw2012?

      Joost

        Hi Joost,

Thanks for your message. We’ll respond to your later message, although what do you mean by extra empty Formativ folders? Are you able to supply a screen shot to support AT advansyscorp.com?

        Kind Regards,

        Advansys Support

          Dear support,

Thank you for the response. I had the problem with a couple of users. and i advised them to delete the folders. We are using gw2012 and 80 % of our users (laptops) are working in caching mode. We are a training & consutancy organisation focused on developing country’s. At the moment most of the are abroad. So it is a little bit difficult to find a user who is having the problem and make a screen shot.
So if somebody is in and is having the problem i will send the screenshot.
When i remember it the folders looked something like:
          – Formative Portals 2
          – Formative Portals 3
          – Formative Portals 4
          Greetings Joost

            Dear Joost,

Thank you for the background and additional information about the folders. User can safely delete the Formativ Portals folder, which is created automatically when it is enabled in the Formativ Windows Control Panel Applet. You can turn the option off via the Control Panel Applet. Not sure why it is creating multiple folders… that indicates something has gone wrong, perhaps with the caching synchronization process.

The Formativ Portals folder is used by some of our solutions to display web based pages or reports. It can also be configured to run an applet automatically when you click on the folder.

            Kind Regards,

            Advansys Support

                  Hi Joost,

Thanks for the link to the image file, which is accessible. We’ve not seen that duplicated folder behavior previously and will need to discuss it with the project engineering team.

Yes, you can delete the Formativ Portals folder or during installation you can configure this option to be off, which means Formativ won’t create the folder. See the Using an Installation Configuration File in the Standard Installation section of the FOrmativ Runtime Help File (GroupWise Help menu | Formativ Help | Runtime Guide).

Under the Configuration section of the INI file, you can use the following setting (set to 0 instead of 1 which is the default):

                  [Configuration]
                  Portal Folder Enabled=0

You can always send direct emails to support AT advansyscorp.com (substitute the ” AT ” with an “@” character).

                  Kind Regards,
