Delete attachments with reference

Hello,
I have found some topics in this forum about removing attachments from messages with delete_attachments_from_selected_messages.exe. This does not seem to work with us. (GW6.5) It does remove attachments from recieved and send messages, but leaves no reference to the deleted attachments in the message that contained them.

Is this by design, are we using the wrong tool, is it possible at all or are we doing something horrebly wrong??

This is working as designed. The free solution you are referring to does not leave any reference to the attachments it deletes.

Does the full version (the one we would be paying for ) have this feature? This is the most important feature for us.

We don’t have a full version of this particular solution. To date we have not had sufficient demand to create a more fully-featured, paid version.

How many users in your organization would be likely to require such a solution if it existed?

I created a solution which does the following:
On receive of a mail save the attachement, create a new mail to myself (with original sender as sender) and in the body of this message quote the orriginal message and the saved attachements (including path).

By taking this approach I can do a search in my mailbox for a specific attachement..
