GroupWise 6.5 SP1 Beta fix: As part of the forthcoming GroupWise 6.5 SP1 client, Novell fixed a long-standing problem relating to way third parties interact with the main GroupWise toolbar and menu system. Previous versions of Formativ contained code to workaround the original client problem. The fix introduced in 6.5 SP1 invalidated the original Formativ code, preventing Formativ toolbar buttons and menu items from being added to main GroupWise window. This update ensures Formativ buttons and menu items are added when used with the 6.5 SP1 client.

Stationery Applet Update: Removed the mail message Reply event integration, which was activated inadvertently in the May 16 release.

GroupWise 6.5 fix: Resolved a problem that could cause GroupWise 6.5 to hang if a Formativ Portal was displayed and the TAB key is pressed repeatedly when the folder list view had the initial focus. (The problem did not occur with GroupWise 6.0.x or earlier).

Stationery Applet Update: This version has been updated so that the original message text is reliably handled when integrated with the GroupWise Reply event.

Stationery Applet Update: When the stationery applet is executed, and no stationery item has been designated as the default, the selection dialog appears as normal. If an item of stationery has been designated the default, that item will be automatically used when the applet is executed. If you want to use stationery that is not the default, or you want to change the default stationery, you need to hold down the SHIFT key while executing the applet to force the stationery selection dialog to appear.

Stationery Applet Update: You may optionally edit stationery so that the cursor is automatically positioned at the appropriate insertion point, ready for typing. To enable this facility, add the text '[Type Here]' (without the quotes) at the point where you want to start typing. The applet removes this marker if present and positions the cursor at this point. You may also tab to this point from the email property fields (To, subject, etc).

Multiple Signatures Update: The technique used to insert HTML signature text has been updated to be compatible with GroupWise 6.5. The previous version of the multiple signatures applet would remove the body of an email message when used with GroupWise 6.5.

Personalized Mass Email Update: The technique used to create personalized messages has been updated to be compatible with GroupWise 6.5. When used with GroupWise 6.5 or later, the applet adds the Text.htm file as 'HTML Message.htm'. Internal GroupWise recipients need to view this attachment in order view the HTML message. External recipients should be able to view the message as normal. A plain-text version of the message is also added for internal recipients.

Personalized Mass Email Update: Changes in GroupWise 6.5 preclude the use of attachments when using HTML templates.

Today View Update: The facility to create new tasks and appointments has been added to the view. Click once on the appropriate 'New...' link to create a new message. You will need to press the 'Refresh' button to see the new items appear in the view.

Fixed: When multiple applets were subscribed to the On Send event, the Event argument would be passed only to the first applet executed. Other events were not affected by this issue.

In practice, the combination of circumstances required to precipitate this problem means that most Formativ users would never be affected.

Fixed a GroupWise 6.5 specific issue which could cause the Formativ 'Applets' and 'About Formativ' menu items and the FormativCentral toolbar button to disappear when proxying or switching operational (online/caching/remote) modes.

Added a fix to a daylight savings issue in the new (and yet undocumented) UTC conversion commands in the Formativ language, which were introduced in 1.5.9.0.

Note: If you have already installed 1.5.9.0, this update is only required for the yet unreleased iCal Appointment Conversion applets.

• The OnSend event now fires for draft messages.
• Portal captions are now updated at the same time the Portal.Caption property is updated.
• Fixed a problem where the portal applet execution process could fail if the Internet Explorer control used by a portal added extraneous codes to the post data send back to Formativ.
• Fixed an assert message that could appear in Formativ Admin and Developer if an attempt was made to edit an applet that contained extended GroupWise message class integrations.
• Fixed the Multiple Signatures failure to recognize signatures bug.
• The No Junk Mail applet has been updated so that:
  • If the customize option is checked and the block email address option is selected, the 'From Text' will be used.
  • If the customize option is checked and the block domain option is selected, the @ character followed by the domain will be used.
  • If the customize option is not checked, then either the email address or domain will be used.
• The Personalized Mass email applet has been updated to fix a problem where templates containing more than one period character did not appear in the list of available templates.
• The Publish Folder List to MS Word applet has been updated to use the assigned, due and start dates for tasks, and to include an icon representing the message type.
• The Stationery Creator applet has been updated to provide the option of replacing stationery of the same name.
• Added Universal Time Conversion (UTC) methods to the Formativ language (documentation update coming soon - if required, contact Advansys for details).
