The ArchiveToGo finds and publishes all data in the GW account but there are errors when building the index. Each System.IO.IOException error msg begins the same way:
System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file “file_name.xls” because it is being used by another process.
[there are 5 more identical lines of information]
…and then the last line is specific to a particular email message that was not indexed.
Rerunning the indexing does not resolve the issue; the same exceptions recur.
Deleting the .xls in the GW account and rerunning the entire archiving process did not resolve the issue.

This is happening for several of our user accounts – always an .xls attachment that cannot be accessed. But many other accounts with .xls attachments to email will publish with no exceptions.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Thanks for reporting this problem – including the fact that it does not occur for some accounts.

If these errors appear only in the Indexer log file, there should be no need to re-archive the account. It may help to restart the machine prior to indexing, and to ensure that no other applications are running.

It’s possible that anti-virus software is causing this. The user guide recommends disabling anti-virus software while archiving or indexing. Perhaps the software was disabled while indexing some account archives (the ones for which the errors didn’t occur)?

If you have tried the above suggestions, please send the files listed below to support@advansyscorp.com:

        • The archiving process log file, in the archive folder.
        • The indexing process log file, in the subfolder _indexinf.

I look forward to your reply.

        Regards,
