      Hello;
      I am running Formativ Express v 2.0.1 with the Personal Microsoft Outlook Migration Applet vers 2.0.3. This is running on GroupWise vers 7.03 client against a Microsoft Outlook client 2002.
      The applet installs and runs ok, opens Outlook information, knows there are folders with data there, gives counts of folders and files, using 2004 dates to today’s date for transfer, processes the file, acts like it is copying info (green status bars, incrementing counts (very quickly)), but in the end, migrates 0 items! The Applet builds the folder structure and folders under other folders in GroupWise, etc. but does not transfer any of the e-mails into the folders (nor the contacts).
      When the Applet runs, it requests the Outlook profile to use (Outlook), and asks a second time also (Outlook). It displays “Personal Folders” with the green check mark. Select what to migrate, and off it goes, looking like it is working, but to no avail.
      The summary report (from page 1) lists the GroupWise user info, but the Outlook user info is blank (though it is defined in Outlook, of course). I do not know if that has any bearing on the problem, as the report details all folders with proper names and file counts.
      It runs for about five minutes processing a 500Mb Outlook PST file.
      Any insight into what may be the problem??
      Thank you for your help and what appears to be an excellent Applet!

        The issue could be relate to the MAPI Configuration. Do you have the Outlook profile defined under Mail services?

        See the following section from the Users Guide about MAPI.

        quote:

        There are well known MAPI configuration issues when running both the GroupWise client and Outlook on the same workstation. Prior to migration, prevent Outlook using the Novell MAPI default settings by configuring the Outlook client to prompt on startup for the MAPI profile to be used.
        You can configure this behavior in the Outlook client under Options | Mail Services | Prompt for a profile to be used. On Windows 2000 or above, you can also set this option by using the Windows Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles, “When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile:” Prompt for a profile to be used. When Outlook starts and prompts you for the profile, select the appropriate one to connect to your Outlook data.

          Thank you for your reply.

          Actually, it seems that Outlook needs to be running (minimized) in order for the process to work. This is not in the documentation…

          After that, and executing on a P IV 2.4 PC with 512Mb of RAM, the transfer takes on average 1250 e-Mails per ten minutes. The Address Book is a bit slower, at 12 contacts per minute, on average. Naturally, your results may vary.
          Thank you once again for a terrific Applet!

            Thanks for your feedback. Importing large number of contacts can slow down process.

            We are not aware about that Outlook client need to be running when migrating data, I have forwarded your comments to engineers for future review.
