Hi. I created custom forms using the Advansys Formativ solution for a client running GroupWise 6.5. The forms and system worked perfectly. They upgraded their GroupWise to front end of 7.0.2 and back end of GroupWise 8. Now these custom forms do not display correctly. The fields are on top of each other on some forms, on some everything is very scrunched together. Is this a version issue? Any suggestions on fixing these forms?

        Thanks for your post.

The behaviour is not relate to Formativ version, its about how you designed the form, controls alignment, anchor, etc.

You should use panel and set its Align to client then add controls into the panel. You can use controls (button, etc) Anchors so when form resize or workstation appearance changes (i.e. font, theme, etc) then your solution form also adjust accordingly.

I used the GroupWise View Designer to create the forms (really a mail item in GroupWise modified to add some additional custom fields) originally. I used Formativ for all the code behind the forms. I am not sure what you mean by “using panels”. Can these custom GroupWise mail items be set up directly in Formativ?

            Thanks for the explanations.

As you stated, you have used the GroupWise View Designer to create the form and Formativ for the code. Looks like overlapping controls issue relate to the View Designer.

Unfortunately, we don’t have enough exprerience with GroupWise View Designer. Please make sure that GroupWise View Designer is uptodate. Perhaps, review the form in installed version of the GroupWise client.
