Moving users (not migrating) from NW 6.5 SP? & GW7.0.3 … to … Linux OES2 Cluster with GW8.0.1.

New Domain and New Post Office.

Moving the mailboxes goes fine, but I’m having some users complain that entries in their Personal Groups still have the OLD domain and Post Office names. I noticed that the entries in these Groups do NOT have a GUID. I ended up restoring a moved user (to see what it looked like before) and as I thought, no GUID exists.

I’m not a Formativ expert (we have some developers that do use it), but could it be used to compare the PAB entry to the entries in the System Address Book … and if empty, populate the GUID with the good one in the SA Book ?

Just to add to this … I guess I DON’T need the GUID to be populated. I need the Post Office Name and Domain to be changed.

So I’d need to compare the “E-Mail Address” field of the entries in the Personal Groups to the “E-Mail Address” field in the System Address Book and change them.

Unfortunately, we do not have any off-the-shelf solution available.

Do you want to update System Address Book entry’s field?

You can write solution in Formativ and use Admin API to access System Address Book. However, we are not sure whether you can update ‘Post Office Name’, ‘Domain’ etc field. Some of the field type in GroupWise defined as ‘egwReserved’, so you won’t be able to access/update.
