How can we install formativ runtime without local admin rights?

Whilst we are eagerly awaiting our full license keys, we have already begun to engineer the rollout of the formativ runtime environment using the provided AXT file.

What ever I try I always get an ‘incomplete installation’ message, since our users dont’t have write rights to the c:windows directory.

We are currently testing with the 30 day trial. Will this behaviour change with the full license?

      Any help is appreciated. Thanks

      Stephan

        Hi,

No, unfortunately it won’t change with the full version because the trial version is exactly the same software except that it is time limited until registered. The installer does require access to the Windows folder.

        Can you work around this?

          Hi,

You ask: Can you work around this?

Nope, not really. As a workaround we could give everyone write accress to C:Windows. But this conflicts with our security policy. Therefore it is not really doable.

I know which file in c:windows (I am not posting the file name here) is being accessed/created on first start of Formativ. Would it work if I took the registered version of this file and copied it (using ZENworks) onto all other pc’s?

          Regards

          Stephan

That should work, though there are some other factors that need to be considered. Could you please write to support@advansyscorp.com and we’ll take this thread offline.
