In the Templates solution, what's the difference between the Local and Shared Folders?

For your convenience, Templates lets you store templates in two locations: the Local Folder and the Shared Folder. You only need to use one of these; by default this is the Local Folder, usually on your personal hard drive.
It’s useful to specify a Shared Folder when two or more people need access to the same templates. For example, you may wish to have everyone in your organization use the same template when submitting a leave request.
