How do I add items to mouse context menus in GroupWise?
Formativ lets you add context menu (also known as right mouse click, floating or pop up menus) items in the GroupWise client. These menus appear when you press the right mouse button over a particular item in the GroupWise client. For example, if you select an email message in a folder and press the right mouse button, a menu will pop up with options specific to email items.
As with all integrations, defining a context menu item is context based. To define which context menu an item should be added to, select the Integrations tab within the Formativ IDE and select the context in which you wish to add the context menu item. For example, suppose you wish to add the item to the context menu that appears for an email message.
- Formativ 2.0 and later: Find the 'Email' context, then check the box in the Popup column. The next time you click for a context menu on a Mail message, the context menu that appears will contain a new item whose caption is the description you defined for the applet. Clicking the context menu item will execute the applet.
- Formativ 1.6 and earlier: Double click the 'Mail' context, then double click the 'Context Menus' category. There is only one context menu associated with email messages, so check the 'main' option. The next time you right mouse click over an email message, the context menu that appears will contain a new item with the caption and help hint you defined for the applet. Selecting the context menu item will execute the applet.
The context GroupWise uses can change depending where the mouse is when you right click. Be aware of this when defining context menu integrations. You may have to define several context menu integrations to have your applet accessible from all the menus you require your new item to appear on.
